Wushu=Martial Arts
Wushu is the Chinese term for Martial Arts. Wushu encompasses all Chinese based styles such as Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung-fu and Wing Chun amongst others. Wushu showcases all these arts in a structured, global sports environment.

The combative and non-combative elements of Wushu are known as “Sanshou” and “Taolu” respectively. Sanshou features full contact fighting defined by kicks, strikes and throws fought on a raised “leitai” platform.

Taolu is the performance element of Wushu consisting of highly artistic and precise routines both with and without the use of weaponry.
Taolu movements are the basis for the spectacular choreography often highlighted in action films and television as performed by wushu action stars Jet Li, Donnie Yen and Jackie Chan.
