THE GRAND OPENING CEREMONIES


OFFICIAL CHINA PERFORMANCE TROUPE:
Get set for a night of high flying entertainment as the best martial artists in the world collide in Toronto during the 10th World Wushu Championships.
The event kicks off with a Grand Opening Ceremonies like no other.
The highlight of the evening will be the Official Wushu Martial Arts Performance Troupe from China; the home to Chinese kung-fu.

This unique group of performers have been hand selected from China's top
martial artists; all hand picked by the Chinese Wushu Association to best represent China. These current and former national champions are ambassadors to the sport and will be also providing sneak peaks of their show during a brief tour in Toronto beginning October 17th, 2009. The troupe will then "AWE" the audience at the Ricoh Coliseum on Opening Night for an exclusive engagement performance.
These elite performers will be showcasing the spectacular array of various styles, weaponry and techniques of the Chinese martial arts.

in the making. The best wushu athletes in both routine and full contact
fighting unite to contend for the title of "World Champion".

CANADIAN ANTHEM GUEST SINGER TYLER-ROSE:
The raising of the Canadian Flag wil be joined by the beautiful voice and appearance by up and coming star Tyler-Rose. Show your support of Team Canada as she proudly sings the Canadian Anthem to mark the start of the 5 day competition.

CANADIAN TALENT SHOWCASE:
The Grand Opening Ceremonies will highlight the talents of many local
stars in dancing and action entertainment. The opening ceremonies features a
Toronto based Dance Championships with the top 6 Dance Crews displaying their skills and choreography for a chance to win a piece of the $15,000 in cash and prizes awarded as part of the contests at the 10thWWC

Casino Rama presents: The 10th World Wushu Championship and the ICEGEAR “Busta Move” Dance Challenge.  This casting audition hosted by Abstract Breaking Systems will give the top Canadian dance teams the opportunity to perform at the Opening Ceremonies for the largest action sporting event this year.
The audition is open to ALL dance types which includes but is not limited to hip hop, breaking, modern, tap, ballet, cultural dance troupes, ballroom, broadway, cheer dance team...  pretty much any performance team that includes dance. The top 6 dance teams selected by our panel of judges will have a chance to compete for the $3000 GRAND as well as full team outfits provided by ICE GEAR Fitness Apparel.  You will be performing LIVE in front of a crowd of over 5000 spectators at the 10th World Wushu Championship Opening.

MARTIAL ARTS MASTERS PERFORMANCE:
The line up of Masters from across the country and from around the world
will display feats of strength and inspiring performances in various forms of Traditional Kung-Fu. This includes the largest tai chi gathering in Canadian history and an awe inspiring display from youth champions as over 300 performers gather for this special occasion.
