Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Olympic Committee
Date: Sunday, April 22nd, 2007
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Designated COC representative Mr. Alan Tang along with Wushu Canada President Mr. Sunny Tang, and Vice President Eileen Hader will attend this weekends function and festivities. In addition to the AGM, the city of Halifax will host the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame that recognizes athletes, teams, coaches and builders who have served the cause of the Olympic Movement with distinction.
On Saturday, April 21st, 2007 at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, the Canadian Olympic Committee will welcome six new inductees into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.

This year's inductions will bring the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame's total membership to 388 individual inductees and six team inductees. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Canadian Olympic Foundation which provides direct support to athletes, coaches, National Sport Federations and the Own The Podium 2010 and Road To Excellence initiatives.

2007 Canadian National Team Selections
Date: August 3rd-5th, 2007
Venue: Mcgill University, Love Competition Hall
City: Montreal, Quebec
Montreal Welcomes the 2007 Canadian National Team Selections. The 2007 Nationals will feature as well an OPEN Competition for Junior and Traditional wushu athletes in addition to a special invitational competition to Free style and Extreme Martial Arts. A full Sanshou competition will be held to select the Canadian National Sanshou team for all weight categories. To highlight this event a delegation of Chinese Wushu Athletes from Henan, Tianjin, and Fujian have been invited to perform during the evening Master's performance show. Two performances will be held on the evenings of the event. In addition several of Canada's most recognized Traditional Kung Fu Masters will perfom various styles of shaolin kung fu and traditional Chinese martial arts. This is an event not to be missed. Confirmation, regulations and ticket sales will be available shortly.

-Day One competition, Evening awards ceremony, Master's Performance and China Wushu Team Performance

-Day Two competition, Evening awards ceremony, Introduction of the 2007 Canadian National Wushu Team, Master's Performance and China Wushu Team Performance

2007 World Wushu Championships
Date: November 11th-17th, 2007
Venue: Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium
City: Beijing, China
Released: After consultations with the BOCOG and other parties, the dates and venue for hosting the 9th World Wushu Championships and Qualifying Competition for 2008 Wushu Tournament is now fixed. The competition will be held in Beijing from November 11th to 17th, The IWUF secretariat will formally inform the EC and TC about the details. After all are confirmed we will notify  the member associations. 2007. The regulations of the Championship and the criteria for the selection will be drafted by the IWUF Technical Committee, and will be submitted to the Executive Committee for approval

World Championships 2006

Fact F.A.Q 9 Canadian athletes have reached the podium at the World Champioships. Douglas Chin - Silver Medalist 1995, Alan Tang - Double Bronze Medalist 1995, Katrina Leung - Bronze Medalist 1999, Johnson Jared - Bronze Medalist 1999, Carmen Lau - Bronze Medalist 2001, Ava Choy - Bronze Medalist 2003, Shane Dobie - Bronze Medalist 2005, Selene Tsang - Double Bronze Medalist 2006 Junior World Championships, Stephen Ngo - Bronze Medalist 2006 Junior World Championships.

Did you know? The Canadian National Wushu Team is comprised of a World Team a Pan American Team and a Junior Team totalling 66 members.
The World Team is represented by the top 5 male and 5 female taolu athletes
